Install a modpack

Versions, mods & modpacks · Updated 27 October 2026

Install a modpack from Modrinth, CurseForge or Feed The Beast in just a few clicks.

Before you start

Installing a modpack replaces your server files. If you want to keep your current world, make a backup first. See Back up and restore your server. Then stop your server.

Install your modpack

  1. Open Modpacks. You can choose packs from Modrinth, CurseForge or Feed The Beast.
  2. Search for the modpack you want.
  3. Click the green download button on the modpack.
  4. Pick the version you want. Each one shows which Minecraft version it's for.
  5. Click Install. The panel downloads the modpack, and sets up the right mod loader and Java version for you. This can take a few minutes.
  6. Start your server, and accept the Minecraft EULA if you're asked. The first start takes a little longer than usual.

Your players need the modpack too

Everyone who joins needs the same modpack, and the same version, on their own game. They can install it with the Modrinth App or the CurseForge App, then join with your server address as usual.

How much memory do I need?

For most modpacks, we suggest our 4 GB Gold plan as a minimum. Larger modpacks, like BetterMC or DawnCraft, usually need at least 6 GB. You can upgrade at any time without losing your files or settings.
