Turn on cheats on a Bedrock server

Minecraft Bedrock · Updated 27 October 2026

On Bedrock servers, cheats are switched on in Startup. The setting in Properties is overwritten when your server starts, so use Startup.

Turn on cheats

  1. Open Startup.
  2. Find Allow Cheats, and switch it on. It saves straight away.
  3. Restart your server.

Make yourself an operator

Players also need operator permission to use commands. In the Console, type op then your gamertag. If it has a space, put it in quotes:

op "Your Gamertag"
