Hey Everyone!
We hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year. As mentioned in our last monthly update, we are underway with our brand new infrastructure.
The current hardware we use is more than capable of the latest Minecraft version - however, as a company our prime focus is our clients and ensuring everything is running smoothly. As part of that, we are currently setting up our brand new servers which will replace our existing ones. This means ALL clients will be migrated to the newer, more powerful nodes. I have summarized this in short below, please ensure you read this to minimize support disruptions.
Phase 1
We will be migrating the PiglinPanel to a new server - this will mean the existing panel will go down momentarily. We estimate it should be down for no longer than 30 minutes. Your servers will remain online and functional, you just won't be able to access the panel during this time. If you intend of playing on your server, we ask that you start it before Phase 1. We will alert via our Discord when this is to commence, however, is planning for the evening of 04/01/2022. (This date may be postponed until the 5th however we will let you know via Discord)
Phase 2
Servers will be transferred over to our new nodes. We have planned to do this during the morning hours of your country to avoid disruption - so hopefully the majority of you will not notice this. None of your files will change or get deleted, everything will remain intact. If you are using your free subdomain, this will work as normal. If you are using the server IP from the control panel, then this will change. You will be able to see your updated IP in your control panel after its migrated. We will not be emailing clients individually to let you know your new IP - so we recommend either setting a free Subdomain now and using this or keeping an eye in our Discord for when your node is migrating so you can check thereafter. Our Support is still on hand if you have any questions or are unsure so please ask.
Additional Information
As a thank you to our existing clients - if you would like to upgrade your server after migrating, we are offering a 50% discount on the upgrade invoice. (This is not your monthly plan, but the cost of upgrading your service). We will also be allowing clients to redeem a free face mask and stickers this week for those that wanted one - please keep an eye on Discord. Also as a friendly reminder, we can host a variety of games and bots, so if you wanted another server please let us know! If you are an existing client and wanted another modded server as well, please reach out first as will be offering recurring discounts to existing clients for those that want one to say thank you.
As some of you wanted a update on the PiglinHost Android application, this is planned to be announced/launched this week. More news to come.
