Update your Bedrock server

Update your Bedrock server

Minecraft Bedrock · Updated 27 October 2026

When Minecraft Bedrock updates, players on the new version can't join an older server. Updating your server fixes that.

Update your server

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Make a backup, just in case. Open Backups, click Create backup, give it a name, and click Start backup. It runs in the background, so you can carry on.
  3. Open Server Files. Right-click the file called bedrock_server, and delete it. Your worlds and settings stay where they are.
  4. Open Settings, and click Reinstall Server. This downloads the latest version of Bedrock for you.
  5. When it's finished, start your server.

Your server is now on the latest version.
