Turn on the whitelist

A whitelist makes your server private: only players you've added can join.

Turn on the whitelist

1. Stop your server.
2. Open Properties, search for white-list, and switch it on.
3. Search for enforce-whitelist, and switch that on too. This kicks anyone online who isn't on the whitelist.
4. Click Save, then start your server.

Add and remove players

Open Console and type:

• whitelist add Username: let a player in
• whitelist remove Username: take them off
• whitelist list: see who's on it

You can also see everyone on your whitelist in Players, under Whitelist.

Using crossplay?

The commands above are for Java Edition players. Add Bedrock players with fwhitelist instead:

• fwhitelist add Username
• fwhitelist remove Username

If a name has a space in it, put it in quotes: fwhitelist add "Gamer Tag". Haven't set up crossplay yet? See Turn on crossplay.
