Server icon and MOTD

Make your server stand out in the multiplayer list, with your own icon and a custom message under your server's name, called the MOTD (message of the day).

Add a server icon

Your icon must be:

• A PNG image, exactly 64 × 64 pixels
• Named server-icon.png (all lowercase)
• In the main folder of your server, next to server.properties

To add it:

1. Open Server Files and click Upload.
2. Choose your icon. Make sure you're in the main folder, not inside another folder.

Change your MOTD

1. Open Properties and search for motd.
2. Type your message. You can add colours with codes like §6 for gold.
3. Click Save.

Put a colour code just before the text it should colour, for example §6§lMy Server. Handy codes:

• §6 gold, §b aqua, §a green, §c red
• §l bold
• \n starts a new line

Show your changes

Restart your server, and your new icon and message show up in the server list.
